Superman Returns

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...Superman!

..."Returns"?

Yes, this one take place after Christopher Reeve's first two Superman movies. However, I never saw them, and I wasn't confused. What was confusing was the filmmakers' love of starting a shot or a scene in a way that confuses you at first, and makes sense as you watch. Whether that is good or bad is up to you.
It is true that it is not quite as good as Spiderman 2 or Batman Begins, but it is still an excellent superhero movie. Superman is, of course, the ultimate superhero. Maybe not the coolest, but certainly the most original. (Superman comics began in 1933, whereas Batman began in 1939, Spiderman in 1963, and X-Men in 1969. And his powers are not obtained from spiders or ninja masters, either; they came with him from Krypton.)
The only thing I miss is the classic phone-booth costume change; no, an elevator shaft is not an acceptable substitute.
Might not be a children's movie, since the awkward question of "who is the father of that boy; Superman or the mother's boyfriend?" is raised.
This movie makes you want to fly.
