Emma

1972 Emma, BBC. Not all that great. Acting ang carachter profiles are not ideal, cinematography (camera work) could be better, script is tedious. But the story is as interesting as ever.
Compare to the newer one with Gwynith Paltroe; better quality, and more enjoyable (shorter).
I never thought it was all that exiting, but the girls may find it interesting.
My main problem with it is probably that the main carachter is not a likable one...but maybe I'm just too narrow-minded.
The thing I do like is the amount of humour involved. Most of the carachters in the story are quite great. If only BBC had portrayed them better.
If you see Emma, watch the new one. If you are intent on seeing both, watch the old one first.

Unbreakable

Just watched M. Knight Shiamalan's 2nd film, Unbreakable. Not as good as his others, but still recommendable. A story about a guy (Bruce Willis) who survives a train wreck that he shouldn't have. That's when he realizes he's never been sick or injured in his life. Some nut (Samuel L. Jackson; Mace Windu-Star Wars) helps him to find out why. Unexpected twist at the end. Very cool movie, but watch out for a little language. (One rating that may keep families anxious is "Sexual Reference". Don't worry; if you can't understand rap, you won't notice it.)
My main problem with the film is the messed-up family.
My favorite thing about it is that it gets you thinking and noticing things...I can't say any more...watch it for yourself.
